The Channel Marketing Manager is a seasoned marketer, responsible for strategy development and tactics required to build out new business growth opportunities and high level execution for the National Acct/Franchise business model. This Manager will establish the value proposition and deploy marketing support and actions throughout the prospecting, sales and onboarding processes to drive targeted results. The position is responsible for leading and managing internal channel and enterprise communication for large account and franchise needs and managing cost effective support for both. The position will be responsible for a budget and will have a high level of accountability for the segment P&L. Additionally, the manager will develop P&L models on new business opportunities as a way to ensure profitability and drive the prioritization process. This position will be expected to work closely with the National Account Sales team, Marketing Services, SB operations and external business partners to effectively and profitably establish support to meet growth goals. This role will monitor competitive, customer, and industry trends and will develop reporting metrics including indicators for senior leadership.
Accountabilities:
Development and execution of strategic and integrated marketing plans designed to achieve sales and profitability goals for this channel. Support the new business development for the major account/franchise plan. This position will help determine the overall program's value proposition, go-to-market strategy and resource support. This program is a key driver for Dealer Channel strategy and one of the key components to driving revenue growth and beginning the Dealer Channel's transition from a print reseller to a marketing services supplier.
Partner with Sales and Enterprise teams to keep current on all Deluxe products and services in order to optimize the fit within accounts.
Drive marketing program improvements and communication plans with respect to the needs of large accounts. Manage the National Acct/Franchise marketing team. Large account growth from key customers is a significant growth driver for the channel. Developing and maintaining strong relationships will provide a healthy customer base to market additional Deluxe services moving forward.
Work with National Accounts Managers and Sales Coordinators to develop an account onboarding process and continuity marketing plan. Identify account needs and develop launch plan with sales and other functional areas within the organization.
Take leadership roll on escalated issue resolution including representing the channel across all applicable functional areas including operations, product, A/R, fulfillment, legal and IT.
Develop strategies and execution for product/service offers for current and future large account partnerships by using P&L tools, sales forecasts, etc.
Collaborates with Marketing Services, Training, Inbound and IT to continuously improve support for large accounts.
Lead and manage execution on all program tools and collateral.
Builds effective relationships and collaborates with peers, managers and co-workers across all Deluxe sites. Openly communicates, provides timely feedback and shares ideas. Participates in staff meetings.
Required:
Education and Experience:
Bachelors or equivalent in marketing, sales/management and/or operational experience.
8 or more years experience in a supervisory role in a sales/marketing environment.
Three or more years national account or franchise experience required.
Proven leadership and influencing skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to coach, develop and motivate others to achieve desired performance.
Strong consultative sales coaching/training skills; sales expertise/knowledge critical.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to analyze data and results, identify trends and create plans for improvement.
Familiarity with call center automation.
Must be PC literate and have strong MS Office skills (Word/Excel).
Must be a champion of change.
Strong Account Management skills. Ability to create strategies and plans to maximize sales and retention performance of managed accounts.
Proven sales expertise.
Knowledge of Deluxe, it's product lines and the business to business market desirable.
Decisions Expected:
Approval of referrals and manual adjustments which directly impact Rep's compensation.
Appropriate/efficient allocation of leads to maximize performance.
Management of monthly promotions budget.
Approval of discounts, refunds, allowances and free shipping outside of standard guidelines.
Motivational activities to enhance performance.
Hiring, pay increases, disciplinary actions.
Delegation, training, individual rep goal setting.
