This is a 12 month contract.

Role Summary:

The Corporate Accounts segment within Group Benefits includes the both SunAdvantage (small business) and SunSolutions (midsized business) group benefits market serviced by advisors. Growth within this segment is a strategic priority. The Manager, Corporate Accounts Marketing will lead the execution of marketing programs to support the Corporate Accounts growth and retention strategies. These strategies will result in clear and compelling communications that aid the understanding and ultimately support the sales of these products and services within the broader advisor community.

Main Accountabilities:

Work with internal stakeholders as well as external partners, to create and execute dynamic Corporate Accounts marketing and communications programs. Of particular focus will be the execution of marketing strategies targeting advisors and supporting SunAdvantage. This could include marketing brochures, newsletters, wikis, internet sites, webcasts, videos, press releases, social media and other channels.
Collaborate with Product Development team to ensure the 'voice of the advisor' is accounted for in new product development plans, execute product launches that are impactful and ensure current product and services offerings remain competitive within the small and mid-sized market
Measure the success of marketing campaigns and ensure target penetration and utilization rates are reached
Accountable for annual Advisor Loyalty index survey and other advisor research initiatives
Planning and execution of annual Advisor Council and Advisor Roadshow
Analyze competitors, Canadian market trends, U.S. trends, and legislative changes
Collaborate with Group Retirement Services business unit on the deployment of information, tools and services on the Plan Advisor Services website


A minimum 5 - 7 years marketing management experience is required. Experience within group benefits, financial services or related industry is preferred but not required
Excellent communication, writing and editing skills are essential
Proven project management skills
Experience working with outside agencies and creative consulting firms
University degree or equivalent in Marketing and/or Communications
Membership in industry and/or marketing organizations


Advanced interpersonal and leadership skills
Strategic thinker - used to focusing on the big picture
Self-motivated - can work with minimal input or direction
Good crisis manager
Business to business marketing experience
Knowledge of both traditional & digital communication channels
Understanding of Communications Measurement
French would be an asset, but not necessary
