Overview of Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a new venture backed by a major internet company. Crowded Room is a mobile-social-local platform that helps people meet.
Inventive, entrepreneurial, enthusiastic developers needed to design and engineer next-generation systems. Use cutting-edge technology. Must be willing and able to learn on the job.
Qualifications:
* B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or related field preferred.
* Appreciation for code aesthetics: beautiful, documented, tested.
* Must quickly learn and utilize new technologies.
* Passion to own a problem.
* Willingness to help the team succeed as a whole.
* Enthusiasm to do what it takes to meet deadlines and support a 24/7 service.
Technical Knowledge:
* Knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript
o Server-Side programming on Node.JS a big plus
* Experience with mobile JavaScript application frameworks
o Sencha preferred; jQuery mobile, or other acceptable.
* Experience with native wrapper (e.g. PhoneGap) preferred
* Experience with desktop JavaScript application frameworks
o jQuery or ExtJS preferred.
* Experience consuming JSON and/or XML web services
o Knowledge of the HTTP protocol
* Design Skills a plus
o Photoshop, Expression, Gimp...
* Mobile Web Programming
o WAP and Smartphone Browser Extensions
o Experience Developing Websites for Blackberry or other Devices
