Social Media Specialist
Position Summary
VanderCook College of Music seeks a dynamic, social media professional to develop, implement, maintain, and analyze a social media program (including website) to serve the college with an emphasis in the areas of recruitment, development, and alumni relations. This is a full-time position with benefits including health, retirement, paid vacation, and access to professional development resources.
Duties and Responsibilities
�?� Develop and implement a strategic approach for the use of social media to aid the college in recruitment of students for the undergraduate, graduate, and continuing education programs; to aid the college in its development efforts both friend raising and fund raising; and to engage alumni to become more active in their support of the college.
�?� In-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms and their respective participants (Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Flickr, etc.) and how they can be deployed in different scenarios.
�?� Utilize metrics to analyze and adjust strategic approach to achieve maximum effectiveness.
�?� Ensure a consistent brand voice and tone across all communication platforms, including coordinating efforts with print media campaigns.
�?� Ability to effectively communicate in written and verbal formats.
�?� Effectively work with college faculty and staff to achieve accurate, current, and
relevant messaging on the college's website.
�?� Remain current in the field of social media.
Education and Experience
�?� Bachelors Degree preferred.
�?� Passion for and knowledge of music is a must.
�?� Evidence of successful experience in social media communications, three to five years preferable.
�?� Graphic design and video production knowledge and experience a plus.
