Responsible with the Market Leadership Team for the profitability and growth of the Southern market (inclusive of profitability and share). Develop short and medium term marketing strategies. Provide input on long-term marketing strategy development. Define marketing tools needed for the market including products/services, price/program, distribution, logistics and promotion.
Duties/Responsibilities Develop short and medium-term marketing strategies. Provide input on long-term marketing strategy development. Define marketing tools needed for the market including products/services, price/program, distribution, logistics and promotion. These topics will be identified first at a market level and then worked in concert with the overall North America processes.

Ensure product needs are clearly defined and prioritized for the market in conjunction with the Research and Sales/Technical members on the team.
Participate in the product advancement process.
Responsible for the current year, plus one, demand planning process in the market.
Responsible for developing market level communication strategies and providing input into national sales and marketing communication strategies.

Ensure understanding of competitive market landscape. Participate in the identification of new marketing opportunities and strategies. Identify the market-specific needs of target grower and user segments. Develop and recommend appropriate responses for the market. Determine intelligence needs and guide information gathering on customer attitudes, behavior and segmentation in cooperation with Market Research and Analysis.

Represent all products for the market and connects appropriately across the Marketing department to the appropriate resources and people. Driver of all market specific issues back through the Marketing organization.
Education and Experience Bachelors degree in marketing or ag related area required. Eight (8) years of Marketing/Sales experience with increasing levels of responsibility, and demonstrated skills in project leadership, planning, implementation, and people management required. Masters of Business Administration preferred.

Competencies

Periodic overnight travel will be required to gain a thorough understanding of the Southern Market and to connect with North American business processes and functional areas.

Thorough knowledge and understanding of marketing principles and the specific market supported.
Understanding of business strategy and demonstrated ability to translate strategy into business opportunities.
Ability to develop creative programs/responses to in-market opportunities.
Ability to lead project teams.

Ability to build relationships, interact and communicate information with research & development, and sales and marketing organizations.
Ability to synthesize market data and customer insight to develop innovative responses to market opportunities.
Demonstrated skills in influencing, persuasion and negotiation.
