ITLE: FREELANCE SOCIAL MEDIA & DIGITAL CONTENT SPECIALIST

Overall Function
The Social Media & Digital Content Specialist is responsible for ensuring that our company's website remains a timely, relevant, and an effective vehicle for information. This role will create, implement and evolve the company's online community, membership adoption and social media strategy. Additionally, this role will research, write, edit, analyze and publish large amounts of data from specific industries and provide quantitative and qualitative analysis and key actionable insights. Will be responsible for the development, creation, and placement of original and re-purposed content across Nucrafts digital properties.
Key Responsibilities
-Ensure that our online content promotes the objectives of the company
-Work with leadership to provide analysis of social landscape and audience buzz volume, frequency, velocity, industries, and related dimensions.
-Establish a social media team to include writers, contributors and analysts
-Collaborate with the writers, analysts, and web developer to identify and produce relevant features and content
-Edit articles and write headlines, captions, descriptions, teasers, summaries, and content promotions
-Work with our web developer to develop main section pages and hubs
-Collaborate with social media team to integrate material between Nucraft and other online efforts
-Prioritize content to maximize visitors/members, time on site, search engine traffic/optimization, and other key performance indicators
-Track performance and work with our web developer to identify opportunities for improvement
-Help create and develop Open-public and Member-focused online sections, promotions, and campaigns
-Contribute to company's thought leadership through articles, white papers, and blog posts
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
- 2-5 years of experience managing multiple digital channels, online marketing, blogs, online ads, webcasting, web editor and social media.
- Experience managing writers and designers on deadline
Writing & Critical Thinking
Strong critical thinking skills, writing skills, communication skills, analytical and consulting skills.
MUST be able to demonstrate strong editorial judgment and writing ability for research-driven communications for Web or other digital media
Demonstrated ability to create analyses that moves beyond an explanation of what happened to why it happened and what should be done.
Meticulous attention to detail, including accuracy and grammar
Ability to jump from the creative side to analytical side.
Web and Social Knowledge
Thorough understanding of how people interact with materials online, the best online writing practices, and the best tools to "push" web content to people across the Internet
Strong-to-expert knowledge of social media platforms, HTML and CSS; experience with Wordpress a must
Experience preparing a range of content types--including videos, podcasts, photos, and content maps/collections--within an online content management system
Experience measuring and monitoring social media and creating business insight for how these analytics can be applied to marketing and PR strategies
Experience using social media platforms such as Twitter, FaceBook, LinkedIn, blogs, etc.
Monitoring and responding to customer comments on twitter-sphere, blogosphere, message boards
Expand Nucrafts presence in Wikipedia, Linkedin, Youtube
Plans and executes regular (quarterly) social media promotions or campaigns.
