Marketing Manager, Serengeti Law
Primary Objective:
Serengeti Law, a Thomson Reuters business, is seeking a high-energy, self-motivated professional to provide leadership and expertise in the effective use of marketing strategies and the execution of marketing plans. This person will be responsible for identifying opportunities and implementing programs that drive retention revenue and new sales growth.
Major Areas of Accountability:
- Collaborate closely with Serengeti's Client Relations Group to develop and implement marketing initiatives that retain and grow existing customer revenue.
- Partner with Serengeti's Sales Team and other sales channels to develop and implement marketing initiatives that drive incremental new sales growth and help to shorten the overall sales cycle.
- Support the launch of new products and product enhancements through integrated, multi-media marketing campaigns.
- Develop and refine Serengeti's customer value propositions and ensure that all customer touches consistently convey these value propositions.
- Together with the Marketing Team, drive ad campaigns that bolster and maintain Serengeti's reputation and visibility in the legal and business communities.
- Serve as a resource to other Serengeti departments and provide Serengeti employees and other Thomson Reuters partners with the marketing resources they need to a) provide introductory information to new prospects, b) answer specific, feature-based questions posed by qualified prospects, and c) close deals with materials that satisfy due-diligence-type inquiries.
- Enable every Serengeti employee to deliver accurate information and act as ambassadors for the company, whether responding to RFPs, providing sales support, or implementing customers.
- Oversee general marketing messages such as talking points and ad copy.
- Produce core marketing materials and publications including collateral and e-marketing to support the sales team; collaborate with Sales to evaluate existing materials, understand challenges, and pursue suggestions for new materials.\
- Schedule and prioritize marketing projects and resources.
- Effectively manage and coach team members on various marketing, design, and communication initiatives

- Management of marketing budget
Education and Experience:
- Four-year college degree in a business or marketing related field; MBA or JD strongly preferred
- 8-10 years experience in strategic marketing or business development with progressive responsibilities and revenue accountability
- Experience leading and effectively managing people
- Experience working with sales and/or account management organizations
- Experience developing and successfully executing marketing campaigns; previous work on new product/feature launches and customer loyalty programs especially desirable
- Proven track record of strong interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills
- Must be an action oriented, results driven individual
Knowledge and Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Attention to detail with excellent organizational skills and proven ability to multi-task
- Ability to present at the senior management level and facilitate discussion
- Experience with e-marketing such as e-mail campaigns, web site management, and social media
- Experience in the legal profession (desired)
- Experience with Adobe suite of products (desired)
- Familiarity with sales and marketing software tools such as Salesforce or Siebel (desired)
