Alabama Rural Electric Association/Montgomery, AL

The Managing Editor/Social Media Director will work closely with the Vice President, Communications, and other communications team members.

The position includes duties related to editing and producing the association's 420,000-circulation consumer magazine, and maintaining the magazine's and association's Facebook and Twitter presence, e-newsletters and blogs.

Specific responsibilities include writing/editing/proofing articles for the monthly magazine, as well as creating informative and exciting newsletter content and other communications functions as needed, which may include creating PowerPoint presentations, blogs and monitoring social media activities.

A strong background in writing and editing, and knowledge of AP Style is essential. A knowledge of website functions, social media and blog sites also is a requirement. Applicants should be familiar with the Adobe Creative Suite.
