Job Summary
Under the direction of the Senior and Intermediate Social Media Specialist, the Social Media Specialist will deliver a new service offer for small businesses by providing hands-on management of customers' social media channels, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc. These social media services help small businesses promote and market themselves via social media. The Social Media Specialist is responsible for continuous refinement of our social media services, capturing ongoing learning and building it into our processes, meeting productivity targets and maintaining a positive relationship with the customer. The scope of our social media services will grow over time and the Social Media Specialist is expected to keep current with industry trends and new social media products and platforms.

Accountabilities
1. Gathers business information from online research, customer phone consultations, customer-supplied information and other team members.
2. Conducts phone consultations to interview small business customers to assess their current marketing tactics and customer communication methods, and to educate customers on general social media topics and best practices.
3. Develops a customized social media strategy for each small business customer, including recommendations for messaging points, frequency of posting and promotion schedule. A template will be provided.
4. Provides ongoing management for customers' social media channels, including writing appropriate status updates, researching related content to share with customers' social networks, monitoring and responding to clients' social mentions, engaging with audience on client's social media channels. Guidelines and sample output will be provided .
5. Manages client approval process so that there is no lag in available, approved content to post on client's social media channels.
6. Provides excellent, responsive and courteous customer service throughout the social media management process.
7. Works together with other members of the Deluxe Professional Services team to share information, resolve issues or questions and keep projects on schedule, including but not limited to Marketing Coordinators, Marketing Consultants, SEO Consultants, Website Designers, copywriters and other social media specialists.
8. Manages a minimum of 15 client accounts simultaneously, at varying levels of maturity and longevity.
9. After successful completion of initial intensive 2-week training period, maintains knowledge of brands and current products and services by attending training as scheduled.
10. Implements coaching feedback and takes action to make changes as appropriate.
11. Participates in a positive work environment by complying with policies, procedures and safety rules.
Required:
Education
Bachelor's degree plus 1-2 years experience in managing online communities or social media for businesses or nonprofits (personal social media experience alone is not enough) Strong written communication skills essential. Must have a solid understanding of marketing communication
Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Requirements:
1+ years managing social media campaigns or programs for businesses (personal social media experience is not enough). This includes managing Facebook business pages or Twitter streams, YouTube channels, business blogs, etc.
Strong written communication skills, with specific understanding of the unique requirements of writing for social media channels.
Ability to think and problem-solve creatively.
Willingness to learn the challenges specific to small business customers and brainstorm creative ways to meet and exceed customer expectations.
In-depth knowledge of social media space and passion for keeping current in this quickly changing arena.
Working knowledge of best practices in SEO and social media optimization.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment that requires constant change and adaptability.
Strong cross-team and customer communication and relationship management skills.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and deliver work on-schedule with minimal supervision.
Demonstrated project management skills and ability to engage with online project management tools for project assignments and team communication.
Ability to be resilient and accept constructive criticism, requests for changes and other feedback from customers as well as team members.
Ability to build positive working relationships in virtual environments with remote customers and team members.
Ability to problem-solve customer issues and escalate issues when additional assistance is required.
Strong organizational skills.
Proficient with Windows operating system, MS applications, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, and other social media and social networking platforms.
Friendly, upbeat, resilient and �??can-do�? attitude and approach to customer and team interactions.
Preferred:
