Education Week, the go-to source for news and information on K-12 education, is seeking a creative, versatile Online Designer/Producer who can bring fresh ideas and cutting-edge digital presentation skills to a talented news operation that is dedicated to providing first-rate content for education policymakers, frontline educators, and wider audiences.

Published by the independent, nonprofit corporation Editorial Projects in Education, Education Week spans multiple platforms, including a weekly print edition, a well-established online presence at edweek.org with more than 1 million registrants, specialized e-newsletters, special reports, a growing roster of staff- and guest-written blogs, webinars, online chats, video, and live events for education leaders.

The Online Designer/Producer will work with the Online Creative Director to develop new web page templates, microsites, interactive graphics, and mobile strategy, as well as assist with redesigns, troubleshooting, and some daily editorial production. Excellent time-management skills and the ability to work independently while meeting deadlines are crucial. All of our team members are expected to bring new ideas, enthusiasm, and an entrepreneurial spirit to the job. You will have a voice and ownership of projects in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications:
�?� Experience in designing and maintaining a dynamic, database-driven website.
�?� Experience with blog platforms and templates.
�?� Understanding of information architecture, usability, and their application to UI design.
�?� Working knowledge of how to translate wire frames into design.
�?� Understanding of corporate branding, layout, color theory, and typography.
�?� Development experience with social media and mobile platforms is a huge plus.
�?� Advanced knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, and Fireworks. Additional working knowledge of InDesign is a plus.
�?� Advanced knowledge of CSS, HTML, AJAX, and PHP. Knowledge of CSS 3, HTML 5, ActionScript, and JQuery is a plus.
�?� Excellent time-management skills and the ability to work independently and under deadline pressure in a collaborative environment while being meticulous about quality and technical integrity.
�?� Knowledge of journalistic standards and web analytics.
