We seek a highly motivated individual to manage & implement a category leading social and online brand strategy for Expedia.com.au & Expedia.co.nz. This position will also benefit from a wider exposure to a brand building and cross media marketing techniques.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Reporting to the Senior Manager Marketing in Australia & NZ you will be responsible for:
- Advocating the Expedia brand through online & social channels
- Owning & implementing the social channel strategy including twitter, the Expedia blog, facebook and youtube
- Developing out of the box online tactics and web 2.0 marketing integration with key brand campaigns
- Developing and implementing online advertising strategy
- Working with Expedia online channels (affiliates, intercompany marketing, SEO, SEM, Online Partnership Marketing) to ensure brand campaigns are represented in these channels
- Blogger & forum outreach
- Working with Operations to develop a customer services strategy / triage process for customer enquiries that arise in the Web 2.0 space
- Developing & implementing a brand measurement strategy (outside of the Expedia Restricted Last Touch online measurement) including tracking all social initiatives
- Developing, editing & publishing social content
- Working with our in-house SEO to ensure all online brand initiatives derive SEO value
- Working with the CRM team to ensure complimentary database development across any new brand online customer acquisition
- Identifying threats and opportunities in user generated content & working with Marketing, Operations, Legal and Investor Relations to overcome these
- Analyzing and optimizing campaigns and translating findings into recommendations
- Preparing & presenting regular reports
REQUIREMENTS
You will have / be:
- Degree qualified preferably in one of the following areas: marketing, e-commerce, communications, new media (Master's degree a plus)
- 3-7 years online marketing experience
- An advocate of social media & dedicated to blogging, micro media and Facebook
- Proven success building followship & extracting commercial value from social and innovative online initiatives
- Experience creating, sourcing, editing and managing content development, including video content
- Excellent verbal & written skills with a proven ability to influence and steer conversations
- Knowledge of search engine optimization
- Strong numerical and analytical skills. Experience with Omniture and social tracking software preferable and the ability to back creative marketing ideas with analytics a must
- A people person that thrives in dynamic organizations & likes working with multiple stakeholders
- E-commerce or travel industry experience a plus
